Enjoy!

Expect Greatness not Perfection.

When people say the words "young people" they are really saying "youngpeople." One word, as a noun. Try it, out loud say young people the way you would normally say it. Why does this matter? Because when you say "youngpeople" instead of young people, you change the meaning of the words.

Youngpeople are a kind of quazi-human creature that are outside of the realm of normal expectations. On one hand we don't expect a whole lot from them. We're just glad they come to church and don't have drugs in their pocket. On the other hand we expect perfection from them. "The 'youngpeople' should be the supreme example of what a person should be as a Christian. Their friends and family and the entire world are watching them and may be turned away from God if these "youngpeople" don't do it exactly right." I am exaggerating (a little) but you get the point.

Let's look at the term the way we should, though. They are young, and they are people. I'm not trying to be sarcastic and yes, I know this is a simple concept, but it could change the way you relate to your "youngpeople."

They are young. This means they aren't going to have a lot of wisdom because they haven't lived long enough to develop it. It means they are going to trust freely (for a while) and trust the wrong people and the right people. They are going to be fiercely loyal to their ideas, their music, their friends and the other things that make up their identity. They are going to be reckless and impulsive. The reason they are is because they don't have a lot to lose. All of the investment has been from their parents. That's not wrong or abnormal, it's youth. Think maybe God designed them like that so they would be willing to go out and change the world? Do you remember when you thought you could do anything? They are going to be passionate. Your job isn't to shut this all down and make them like you, they are not miniature adults, they don't think like you because they don't have all of the risks you have. Your job is to help them harness all of this energy and power, yes power, and point them in the right direction so they can make a difference in their world.

They are people. They are going to do amazing things, normal things and incredibly stupid things. They are going to be subject to their emotions, peer pressure (you still are), ups and downs and everything else everybody goes through. Don't put them in the "youngpeople" category and limit them to that paradigm. They are people, created by God for a purpose with a capacity for greatness, but the propensity for failure. Expect greatness, but don't expect perfection.

<img style="display: block; We will still be having Church...That's right.

Church will go on this Sunday with just a little twist. We will be doing our first ever Web service.

Just go to our website www.thelifebridgechurch.com and check out the details that are necessary for being a part of this event. I am really pumped about what it is that God is going to do this weekend as we finish up our "Resolutions" series.

In the mean time I will be praying for you. I am so thankful to be a part of a ministry that is always willing to step outside the box to reach people for Jesus. So go to the site so you can get everything set up early. Pastor Jeff rocked the house today with his message "Man In The Mirror".

I am so thankful that I work alongside men who are not afraid to step up to the plate and let the word fly. (the bible that is :-)) Now it has been said that as a pastor, it is our responsibility to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable.

He did an awesome job of letting us know that before we can ever begin to move forward in our relationship with Jesus, we must first look in the mirror to see who it is that is actually be reflected. Us or Him!

He also challanged us to step up our game. "Can you be counted on, or just counted"? Great statement!

I am pumped about what God has done in the last few weeks at LifeBridge. It seems as if people are really starting to take hold of our improved vision and are ready to make a difference in our community. The numbers are up and the energy is electric. Way to go God!

Next week is going to be an awesome Sunday. Once again we are doing something a little different. We are having a "Student Takeover". So invite a friend and come show your support for the church of today!!!

Well I am beat, and bummed about our Ravens!!! More to come.

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Sunday At LifeBridge!

What an incredible day today at LifeBridge. Talmidim rocked the house! What a great group of people with a true heart to worship God. they were a real blessing to our church today.

I am so glad that as a ministry we are never afraid of doing some different things in order to become the most unique church around.

I was able to bring a message entitled, "When the Music Fades... What is Worship". My prayer is that as people left today that they really understood that true worship is not something we do, but the life that we lead.

I truly believe that God is in the midst of doing some awesome things with our ministry. I am pumped about what it is the future has in store.

We had a really productive meeting today after our service with our LifeGroup leaders in which I shared once again our newly updated vision for our ministry.

I am convinced that unless you are a part of a LifeGroup you will never experience what it is that God has in store for you as a Christ follower.

If you are a part of LifeBridge, and are not in a LifeGroup, I believe that you need to stop making excuses as to why you cannot attend, and start investing your time in your spiritual growth.

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Sunday!!

Yesterday was yet another incredible day at LifeBridge. God showed up in a huge way. Pastor Jeff rocked the house with a message that I believe if every Christ follower would get a hold of. It would radically change our lives.

I am so thankful to be a part of a church that takes risks. God has called us to be "unique". By that I mean so incredibly different that the community cannot help but to stand up and take notice of what God is doing in the lives of people.

LifeBridge, we have a mission. A mission to see people that are far from God, come to a saving faith in Jesus. My prayer is that some would stop spectating, and all would start playing!

By the way, next Sunday is going to be a very special day. We are going to be doing something that has never been done. Not as long as I have been at LifeBridge. I would encourage everyone to be there as well as bring as many friends and family as possible. It is going to be AWESOME!!! I wanted to share a link that really spoke to my heart today. I truly believe that a leader is someone that is never content with the way things are. They have a vision for what they could be. The very definition of leading is to be in front and trying to break free from the status quo.

Now don't get me wrong, being unsatisfied with the status quo does not mean that the leader is always complaining or negative towards everything going on. It just means that they have a willingness to take risks. No risks no reward! I also believe that a person that is afraid to take risks is a person who fails to grow.

See, a leader who is happy with the status quo soon becomes a follower. I believe with all my heart that real leaders take risks and are not afraid to fail. But for most people they are satisfied and comfortable with old problems rather than to come up with new solutions.

I am so glad that LifeBridge is lead by a team of men that are not afraid to jump out of the boat. Were on a mission to make the changes that are needed in order to reach as many people for Jesus that He allows us to.

Yes change can be difficult, but it is necessary. I am tired of the world offering the greatest and the church settling for second best. We need to have an attitude adjustment and start to reverse the mentality that is bringing the church down.

You know what I am talking about. The excuses we make to not change for the better. Like, "Sunday is my only day off, so I really need to rest". Well last I checked, the only one that needed rest was God!

We are willing to bust our hump for everything in the world, but when it comes to doing things for Him, we use the mentality of well Jesus understands.

People we need to start stepping up our game. We need to start telling the world through our actions not just our words. Jesus is worth the very best that we have to offer and it is a sin not to give it to Him...

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

The Blame Game!

It has been a while since I have posted, and in that time off I have witnessed alot of so called transitions in the ministry. I have seen people come and go, not just in our ministry, but all over the country.

One of the things that I have discovered is that for alot, not all, but alot, there has been this blame game kind of going on. It seems as if more and more people today especially christians want to blame everyone and anyone for the things that they go through in life.

Now please don't get me wrong, there are people out there that have caused others some serious pain. That I do not take lightly. As for others, more often than not we get entangled in the kaos of life not because of others, but because of the decisions that we have made.

Remember this. "Who you are today is a result of the decisions that you have made in the past". Both good and bad. I just believe that it is time for Christ followers to stop playing the blame game and start taking responsibility for actions.

This Sunday I have the opportunity to speak and I will be talking about this very topic and how we as Christ followers can begin to make wiser and smarter decisions as we navagate through this one and only life.

My prayer is that people will be encouraged, as well as challanged to start stepping up to the plate and stop playing the "blame game" and start looking to the one who can and wants to be a part of your decisions.

The Bible teaches that the world will know that we are Christ's disciples by the love we have for one another. Just sometimes that love needs to be tough!!!

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Purge!

I am not one that has ever been known to sit and dwell on the past. For the most part I am the kind of person that usually lives life with a "get over it" attitude. So with all that has gone on over the last several months, it is safe to say that the enemy had really done a good job of redirecting my focus.

I was so focused on the negative things happening and people that were leaving that I lost sight of the fact the God has left a great core of dedicated and committed people who have a mentality of "it's so not about me".

For the record, I totally understand that people will leave your church. It was once said that if people don't leave you church, then your not doing something right.

I think that the thing that most pastors struggle with when people leave is the "why". There is never a problem with people leaving, but I do believe that there is a biblical process for doing so. Most people choose to use the "God is leading me elsewhere" card to everyone but the people that matter.

Having said that, in my personal time with God he has been putting the word "purge" on my heart lately.

As I look at where this world is going, it is so obvious that the people of God are doing a better and better job of fitting in, rather than standing out! The Bible calls us to be different, set apart, it even says that as Christ followers we are peculiar people.

Hence the word "purge". I believe that we as Christians from time to time need to self evaluate. We need to step back and look at our lives and see if there is anything that needs to be purged. Maybe we NEED to purge certain people out of our lives. I truly believe that if you hang out with negative people, it won't be long before you have a negative attitude.

Many of us need to purge the vocabulary we use. For some, maybe it is the places we hang out, the way we treat people, the things we talk about. You get my point. There are things in all of our lives that can use a good purge.

Not a purge to say that we are better than anyone, just to show that we are different. God has called us to be the light of the world. How can we ever expect to win anyone to Jesus if we spend our time just trying to fit in.

LifeBridge Church is on a mission, a mission to be so unique that people far from God cannot wait to see what it is this God is going to do. I am so thankful and blessed to be a part of a ministry that strives to be different and doesn't settle for fitting in.

What about you? Are there things in your life that as you take a step back and reflect on need to be purged?

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Be Quiet!

It has been a while since my last post but I have been doing alot of thinking lately. I had the opportunity to take our Student Ministry on an incredible beach trip this past weekend. We were able to meet some awesome people who are totally listening to what it is God would have them do.

I have been truly humbled over the last four days by all of the stories that I am hearing on how many students are just a little different know then when they left. All I can say is, "thank you Jesus".

I had the opportunity to speak to students on the last day with a message entitled "One Thing". Basically it was this. If there was one thing you could ask God for, and know you would get it. What would it be?

Then we scattered all of the students over the entire property, to sit facing an incredible view of the bay and to reflect on that very question. They were asked to sit for about fifteen minutes (which I am sure felt like an eternity to a student) Then we had the leaders scatter to pray for each individule student.

Let me tell you that for me, it was a moment I will never forget. God showed up in huge ways in the lives of students. As well as rocking my world.

I write all of this to say... I believe that we as people get so caught up in the rat race of life, we do not spend enough time just being quiet. To slow down and to listen. People, we serve a God that wants and desires to speak to us.

The problem is we are too busy to listen. I believe that God is going to do some awesome things in the Student Ministry of LifeBridge. All because we were open to what His spirit was saying and that was just... "Be Quiet".

What about you? Are you taking the time to stop what YOU are doing, and find out what it is GOD wants you to do?

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Good To Great!

For some reason, God really put this on my heart. It is a post that I did a while ago but has really been speaking to me.

Have you ever had those thoughts where everything you do just doesn't seem good enough? I do all the time!

Now before you say anything like, well, "you just need to have faith or just let the spirit lead". I totally understand that "apart from God, we can do NOTHING"! So I get that.

But, I will hear all the time from people, that was a "GREAT" movie, or that was a "GREAT" show, or a "GREAT" dinner. But I also hear things like, the service in Church today was "GOOD". So I will ask myself, why is it that the world will offer us "GREAT" but the Church only "GOOD"?

I heard along time ago that GOOD is the enemy of GREAT! And if the Bible tells us that in everything that we do, we are to do as unto the Lord. Why are we settling for "GOOD"?

Now I know that this may ruffle a few feathers for people. So let me say, "GREAT"! Sometimes we need our feathers ruffled in order to ask ourselves, are we giving God our best?

You may be one of those type of people that do alot of things for God. So let me say a personal "thank you". But I believe that for the Church to go from "GOOD to GREAT", it is not about less people doing more, but more people taking what they do, no matter how big or small it may seem to them. And just doing it better!

The world will offer us the best. Isn't it time that the Church stop taking a back seat? I believe that LifeBridge Churches best days are ahead. We need to be willing to stop looking at the circumstances and start looking to Jesus.

Circumstances of life are not always good. As I say often, "it is what it is." I will tell people all the time, if your in a bad mood, then it is your fault. We have the choice not to be. I say, let's take it to the next level, and stop accepting good. Let's go after GREAT things for God. He deserves our best !

Just some thoughts...

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Life Of A Pastor!

It has been a while since my last post, and I have been doing alot of thinking lately. Some of the people that I admire the most happen to be Pastor's. Why you ask. Because I am one. I really love following certain men of God who truly have a heart for reaching those far from God, as well as being great leaders.

I also believe that pastors are some of the most criticized people on the planet and it usually comes from those that call themselves Christ followers and usually they are the ones that do the least. Now don't get me wrong, some pastors need to be criticzed. But, we cannot put them all into the same catagory. Remember God calls some to lead and others to follow.

Having said that, I have been reading a book lately from a pastor who has an incredible ministry. As I was reading I came across some statistics from pastor's that were to me mind blowing. So I thought I would share some of the things that the life of a Pastor has to deal with.

They were taken from a man by the name of H.B.London Jr. in his work, "Pastors at Greater Risk".

80 percent believe that pastorial ministry affects their families negatively.

75 percent report they've had significant stress-related crisis at least once in ministry.

50 percent feel unable to meet the needs of the job.

90 percent feel they're inadequately trained to cope with ministry demands.

25 percent of pastors' wives see their husband's work schedule as a source of conflict.

The clergy has the second highest divorce rate among all professions.

80 percent of pastors say they have insufficient time with their spouse.

56 percent of pastors' wives say they have no close friends.

45.5 percent of pastors say that they've experienced depression to the extent that they needed to take a leave of absence from ministry.

70 percent do not have someone they consider a close friend.

Please don't get me wrong, I would not change what God has called me to do for one second! I have the greatest job in the world and I love being a Pastor at LifeBridge.

Unfortunitaly these are statistics that most people in the church do not get to see. So ask yourself, the next time you are ready to criticize a pastor, maybe I should stop and pray for him first!

Just some thoughts!

In Him, Pastor Bobby

Motivation!

In our world today people give much attention to motivation in our society. The very first thing that happens in a crime is the attempt to determine the motive. What motivated that person to commit the crime?

We also look for motives for actions of people we come in contact with on a regular basis. If people that were once really nice to us begin to be mean, we might ask, what is their motive for doing this.

There can be many factors that can combine to provide motives for people. Greed, selfishness, fear, self-protection, the list goes on. Of all the reasons found to impact the motives of people, LOVE is by far the most powerful.

At this time of year we make it a priority to try and explain what was accomplished on the cross. Through the death, burial and ressurrection, Jesus paid for the sins of the world. To me that is AWESOME.

So I asked myself, how much more awesome would it be to not just observe WHAT was done, but WHY. I believe that we need to understand the motive of what Jesus did.

It is not possible to fully comprehend what happened during the first Easter season, but the Bible tells us in Luke 19: "For the Son of man came to seek and to save what was lost." Specifically Jesus came to fix the screwed up relationship between God and us.

Ultimately it was our sin that sent Him to the cross, but it was the love He had for you and me that held Him there. The most awesome part of why Jesus died at the cross was that He died there for you and me.

It is sad to think that it was necessary, but comforting beyond words to know that He was willing to do whatever was required to have a relationship with you and me. His love is not just a bunch of words in a book, but a reality expressed in the most incredible way possible.

If the motivation behind Easter was you and I, than how can I not be motivated to spend the rest of my life serving the one who saved me?

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Burnout!

I have really been thinking alot lately about the phrase that so many people use in ministry. Burnout.

As I look at all of the different types of people and ministries that there are to offer in the local church and how the number of volunteers is on the decline in most ministries I started to really ask the question, are people really getting burnout from ministry?

As I read the scripture, I personally have to say that I do not believe that ministry really burns people out. When most people spend less than THREE hours a week on ministry (including Sunday) you have to wonder how can that burn you out.

So again in thought, in the contact that I have with people I have begun to see that people today have so much on there plate. We make our lives so busy that ministry gets all of the blame and is always the first thing to go.

Maybe for some, we may need to scale down in the rat race of life, take a step back and see if we are really honoring God with the best of our time, talent, and treasure. If you are in ministry and are feeling stressed out, maybe life isn't that busy. Maybe you are just in the wrong ministry.

Yes I do believe that if you are unhappy or stressed with ministry it can be a couple of things. Life is too busy, or your in the wrong place. If Jesus says that He will never give us more than we can handle, than how can we blame ministry?

We choose to take on the busy schedules only to say that we are to busy for God.

I don't know where you are in your walk with Jesus, but if you are stressed out today about a ministry you may be involved in. Stop and ask yourself, is my life to busy, or maybe I need to find what it is that gives me that white hot passion in serving again rather then the feeling of need.

Jesus don't need us, but He chooses to use us to fulfill his mission. When we serve we should do so with a heart of thankfullness and joy. That it is an honor and a privilage to serve the one that saved us.

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Perseverance!

I have been thinking alot lately about alot of things. (hence the smoke) What God is showing me over these past few months really has to do with the not give up mentallity.

There are times in our walk with God where we can fall away from the Lord and become off center. I believe that often God allows situations in our lives that are, for lack of a better term, unexplainable.

Most of the time we don't necessarily see their purpose. I would imagine that there are a number of those from LifeBridge with these very thoughts. At times, the situations of life might even seem to contradict what we would see to be the best for our lives.

Philippians 1:6 says: Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Then it hit me. We are just clay in the potter's hands. I read once that a skillful potter realizes that what is applied at one time will reveal it's true finish later.

That is exactly what God has for every Christ follower. He knows that every situation that we face in life will produce awesome results later on in our lives. I believe that all He wants us to do is to be obedient to his voice and to persevere!

We need to be trusting God to perfect us as He desires. Our trouble will come when we attempt to resist.

How about you, are you in a persevering or quitting mode?

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Sunday At LifeBridge!

I have to say that Sunday was just one more way of God confirming that He is in total control of everything. Let me tell you that it was "off the hook".

From the way that we set up today to the music (in my opinion, the best worship team we have ever had) to the attitudes of all those in attendance, it was evident that there was going to be something special about yesterday.

I believe that this series of the "Love Revolution" has been one of the most challenging yet more powerful series then we have ever done. As Christ followers it is alot easier to say that we need to love as Jesus loved, than to do it. Yesterday's message was right on point.

It never get's old to me in seeing the power of God change lives, and I believe that He is in the middle of doing that in so many people. I could share story after story of the number of things that God is doing in the hearts of people by the many testimonies revealed to me just yesterday in the lobby alone. God is so good!

I am so thankful that through everything that has transpired over the past several months that I work with a team that never waivers in their pursuit of seeing people come to Jesus. I am blessed to be part of LifeBridge and it's people. "YOU ROCK!"

Yesterday was my mother's birthday and yes I get my personality from her. That I will never apologize for. She is a person who loves Jesus and has gone through more pain than any person other than Jesus could ever imagine. Yet, is always positive. I believe she could teach a class to alot of Christ followers on how not to whine.

I am forever grateful for the example she has set for me as her son. She has instilled in me the drive to never give up and to never quit. Something that is so easy for people to do these days. She is truly a person of perserverance and strength. I know that I can never say it enough but, "I love you mom!"

Finally I believe that the best is yet to come for LifeBridge Church, and am humbled by the fact that God chose and allows me to be a part of it.

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Students!

Last night the LBC Student Ministry ventured out on the next chapter of whatever it is that God has in store for us. I am so thankful for the churches that He has put in our path that really step up to the plate in partnering with one another rather than talking about it. (a very special thank you to the people of Middle River Baptist Church)

All I can say about last night is, "WOW" did God deliver. We had what was the greatest turnout of students in the history of our ministry. I was totally floored and humbled by the awesome
power of God.

I know that the past few months have not been an easy transition for some. I also know that it is in those times of doubt and confusion that God seems to do His greatest work. He proved that once again last night.

I challanged the students last night with a message entitled, "Challange By Change" I let them know that the rate of change is so great that we barley have time to catch our breath before another blast of change slams into us. Everything that we are familiar with is changing.

Then I let them know that the only thing that does not change is God. He said in Malachi 3:6, "For I am the Lord, I do not change".

I went on to tell them that all throught the history of this world God used ordinary people totally committed to Him to make a difference in this ever changing world, and that they could be that next person if they are willing to say those words, "here am I, send me".

I am forever grateful for my team of ministry leaders. That understands that it is so not about them, but rather the next generation who need that constant reminder that they can accomplish anything that they set out to do IF they are sold out to Jesus.

I don't know where you are in your walk with God, but I do know that I am so glad to be a part of LifeBridge Church. There is no place like it!

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Sunday At LifeBridge!

What an incredible day today at LifeBridge. I am always amazed at how God can take an ordinary group of people and do extrodinary things. The crew He has put together has done an amazing job through our transition.

I have to add, and say a special thank you to our technical arts team. They stepped up to the plate today and hit it out of the park. "Way to go"!

We continued in our "Love Revolution" series today and the message was right on point with where I believe we as a Church are at. The music was as usual off the hook, and the ladies today were truly incredible.

I am so thankful that God has allowed me to be a part of a church where their focus is truly for the unchurched and not about themselves. As we have begun this new chapter in the LifeBridge story I am forever grateful for the people that God has chosen to stay and be a part of it.

Today was yet another day of conformation from God that we as a body are exactly where God wants us to be as this point in time. As I have always said, "it is all part of His PERFECT plan".

Well I wanted to give just a few highlights from today and let the people of LifeBridge know that the best is yet to come.

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

p.s. Remember to make sure and be at LifeBridge next week, and bring a friend. We are going to be doing something that we have never done in the history of our church...

Snow!

As I sat home last night and watched the snow come down. I couldn't help but to compare snow to a Christ follower. Not one of us are the same. We are all unique. God has chosen to make us that way so that He can fulfill His perfect plan.

God made us all different, with different personalities, different functions, different abilities, different talents etc. Why? I have to believe it was so that this walk as a Christ follower would not be an unfulfilled time while here on earth.

When God saved us, He saved us to serve Him with all of our heart. To take those gifts and abilities and use them to reach as many people as we can. That is what our short time here on earth should be all about.

I think we tend to make things to complicated. To love God, and love people. I believe that if Christ followers would spend less time criticizing everyone elses ministry and how they are doing things, and spend more time on finding out what it is that God wants them to be specifically doing, we would reach many more people for Jesus.

So LifeBridge, let's get on board with the "Love Revolution", and show our community what real love is all about.

So yes Christ followers have alot in common with snowflakes. None of us are the same, and some are even a little flakey!!!

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Sunday At LifeBridge!

Today was yet another incredible day at LifeBridge. I am so blessed to be a part of a church that understands the importance of reaching the lost.

I had the privilage of bringing the second part in our "Love Revolution" series today and I have to tell you. I am emotionally worn out. (in a positive way.)

Part two was all about the priority of love, and how we as Christ followers need to be people that express love much more than the world does. Especially if we are commanded to love as Jesus loved.

The transition of the move to Eastern Tech has been an awesome thing to be a part of, and it never amazes me of how faithful God is even when we are not. The positive attitudes of those that are committed to this ministry really fires me up!

I want to say a special "thank you" to all of you that have dug in and have not allowed the enemy to rob us of accomplishing what it is that God wants LifeBridge to do. I am humbled by your "it's so not about me" mentallity.

I am really looking forward to what it is God is going to do in the hearts and lives of those people we extend our random acts of love to. So be sure to go to the "Love Revolution" website and post your experiences.

Well it is getting late, and I am spent. By the way, I really hope we get about three feet of snow!!! :-)

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby

Things I have Learned!

Just some thought of a few things I have learned in my short time in ministry.

When you try to please everyone, you please no one. People are going to leave your ministry. We need to be willing to bless them, and let them go.

Vision is what matters. A leader must always cast vision. People need to know where you are leading them.

Expectations in the Church should be much higher than that of the rest of the world. Someone gave me a qoute one time that said...

"You always have to have bigger ideas than your life. If you want to be happy, lower your expectations; but the truth is, if you want to be great... raise them".

Leaders spend way to much time pampering the complaining Christ follower, and less time reaching the unchurched.

There is no other place on earth that I would rather serve at then lifeBridge!!!

God shows me everyday how awesome He really is.

Transition and change are positive things when you are totally relying on God.

Relationships are what matter to God. For that is the only thing you can take to heaven with you.

As a leader I need to surround myself with trustworthy, committed, passionate, and reliable men that have my back.

Well, these are just a few of many things that God has taught me over the last few years. There are many more and I will share them later.

Just some thoughts!

InHim,

Pastor Bobby

Disciplined!

I read a quote this week that simply said, "The first person you lead is you". WOW!

I think far to often than not, we as people, get so caught up in the rat race of life. That from the moment our alarm clock goes off until the last thing we remember is our head hitting the pillow. We are on the go. We are creatures of habit.

So as I read that qoute, I began to think. We as Christ followers get so obsessed with the things of life that we believe have to get done. That we truly miss out on what it actually is that should get done.

I have a friend, who has over the past several months kept reminding me that all God is asking is for us as His children is to "be still and know that He is God". A passage I believe is often quoted, but very rarely obeyed.

I have been asking myself what is it that God is trying to tell us there? Then it hit me. "shut up, slow down, and just listen". You know God wants to speak to us, the problem is that we are too busy to listen.

I don't know about you, but when I was a kid and didn't listen to my earthly father, there was some form of discipline. And what I have found out is that it was usually never very pleasant.

So my question is this, if we don't take the time to slow down and discipline ourselves to really find out what it is God is telling us to do, then how can we as Christ followers complain about some of the circumstances we have gotten ourselves in to?

Just some thoughts!

In Him,
Pastor Bobby
